Saturday Night With Downbeat Coffee

virtualwatchpartymovieWe were quarantined. We wanted to connect to something. At one point, a small group of us were huddled around our computers, laptops, and smartphones to watch this old movie from 1924. Downbeat Coffee has been hosting watch parties in their small attic space for the last few years. With the recent shelter-in-place situation, they haven’t been able to do it– but last Saturday, they streamed it on Facebook. There were only 20 of us watching, but it was still cool. We were chatting online while the movie played, and it felt good to know we weren’t alone.

  1. NEAT! An old friend from Springfield called and told me she and some of her friends met in a parking lot by a park, backed their SUV’S into a circle, pulled down their tailgates, pulled out their sack lunches and had lunch together. They were 10 ft. apart and had a great time. A policeman stopped by to see if there was any gang activity going on! :)

    • that’s cool Mom. hey Darla called yesterday on her way back from Golden City. We talked for almost an hour. Even though this pandemic is physically pushing us away from each other, I feel like it’s bringing us together. Really glad that everyone’s ok right now. Love you.
