Wave of the Future

The Panasonic RL-H1400 Hand Held Computer was the wave of the future forty years ago.  In the early 1980′s a man could walk up to a payphone, light a pipe, and check his email over a dial-up modem.  Past conveniences look so clunky now, but I’m sure people who could afford these luxuries imagined they would also be communicating with aliens before the century was over.  Sometimes I feel like I’m doing that now.
