believe it or not, i was subconsciously re-writing girls on film when i recorded this, but this is stompier (is that a word?). who knows maybe the magellans will have people dancing at the next gig. dig it.

SPELLMAN: johnson, will you read the minutes from last weeks’ meeting?
JOHNSON: we didn’t have a meeting last week mr. spellman
SPELLMAN: how come no one told me?

this is how i felt when i realized i hadn’t made a blog entry since monday. so let’s go over some of this week’s high points… tuesday two old friends and myself sat in the backyard in front of the chimenea until 2am under a full moon… ok. that was the high point.

went for a sunday drive to penguin park in gladstone. i found out about it through oldkc.com on facebook. hard to believe (and yet strangely reassuring) that a huge penguin is still upright in 2011.

danny & jess came to our house last night for a couple of hours. the women (jenny & jess) played on the monkey bars, the men (danny & me) went over the music setlist for saturday night at homer’s. i’m thinking the magellans’ debut will be something like the creation of frankenstein’s monster… or at least i hope so. that way when wailin’ wall plays the second half of the show, they can hand out torches before storming the castle… oh wait, i play in that band too.

the fast food of jack in the box is back in my life. and one of the best things about it? they never close! they are open 24 hours, 7 days a week! i can get two tacos for a dollar at 3am if i want to! there’s a location just off 103rd and metcalf (15 minutes away). the last time i lived this close to jack in the box i was 9 years old and i couldn’t go there without thinking of rodney allen rippy. i might be going there again this saturday after playing with the magellans and wailin wall.

this is a quick post for anyone looking for information about the magellans and wailin’ wall (the two bands playing at homer’s coffeehouse this saturday). it’s true… yours truly is in both bands. the magellans is actually danny williams and myself. you can can sample our explorations on the day of mars tab. wailin’ wall is my church band at overland park lutheran.
