Day In Columbia

MLshelookedthese lockwood teenagers sang their hearts out on the MU campus in columbia friday morning. we were proud of all of them– especially my niece, marylynn. the crowd congestion that goes along with a statewide music festival almost kept me from hearing her solo– but i made it. afterward i found out that my mom cried the first time she heard marylynn sing this particular song.

  1. it’s true I did, eventhough I couldn’t understand the words. she is a most talented young lady. and it’s hard to think of her as a young lady since I remember her as she was when she was a toddler.
I knew she would do well.

  2. i’m the same way mom. i see all 3 of them as young women & remember them as little girls. sorry i didn’t get a fresh post up today, i spent yesterday afternoon doing beep goes the weasel at a museum in lawrence (paying gig!) i’ll make a post about that later today or tomorrow. just wanted to say hi!

  3. Just plain stunning. Abby and I listened to it just this afternoon. I am always talking about my grand daughters and was so glad and shocked when I found it on your blog. I just had to show it to my students at Magoffin MS on my last day there today. She’ll be a star if I have anything to do with it, and so will the other girls and grandkids.
